Ana Rita Pires is presenting a workshop for Dancing in the moonlight (of an afternoon).
Ana Rita has lived her life between Portugal and Australia. This sharing of territory has been a catalyst in the development of her work as a visual artist and art educator. Her work questions themes such as migration, identity and place. Her projects have involved working with culturally diverse youth groups, artist residencies in West Africa and the ongoing research of her drawings and paintings. Recent projects have involved collaborations and creation of new work, such as Line Dance (not the country kind) and the new adventure of creating Fandata Studio, a multidisciplinary arts studio in Sunshine, with her partner and collaborator Mito Elias.
Ana Rita currently works and lives in Melbourne`s West with her partner Mito Elias and their daughters Tamira and Indigo.
Flow as part of the kids disco is an immersive participatory multimedia project that celebrates waterways of the West and explores our connection with water both within ourselves as an essential part of life, as well as our surrounding waterways within the inner western suburbs of Melbourne.
