WORK, REST AND PLAY

Today we all carry a phone that can broadcast our lives out to the world. We are often peering into this technology whilst people are simultaneously peering back at us. In this work we attempt to upscale this feature of everyday life.
The Farmer Family use camera tricks, rear projection and the shopfront facade of their home to give people a glimpse into their chaotic lives as filmmakers and new parents.
What do you see as you look inside the window of this family home? And what happens when they see you?
When the projector warms up the normally opaque shopfront windows allow passers by to see into the century old building . A family lives within. Their lives are a mix between the mundane and the magical. Within this shop - the outside rules no longer apply. You can walk on the ceiling and float through the air. otherworldly beings lurk in the shadows. The windows also show the outside wold. People on the street cast upon the windows surface. Onlookers look upon themselves. The front door opens and the worlds cross over.
